Completed Projects

Our completed and ongoing projects include:

  1. Road to Sustainable Peacebuilding & Good Governance Consortium project from 2022 – 2025 (R2P 2), in partnership with PDRC in Puntland and APD in Somaliland. Main activities done under this project include:
    1. Reconciliation processes in Mataban, Guriel, Balanballe, Dhuusamareeb, Adado, Galinsoor, Dhabad, Qalnqalle, Hananbure, Abudwaq, Herale, Bandiiradleey, Galdogob, and Galkayo.
    2. Facilitate induction training for council members on service provision, revenue collection, good governance, and conflict resolution (Adado, and Balanbale).
    3. Citizen engagement forums for Adado, and Balanbale.
    4. Peace Pillars mapping: security, rule of law, social reconciliation, state building, decentralization, and democratization.
    5. Assessment Galkacyo -Afbarwaqo corridor with the focus on natural resources and climate change
  2. Road To Sustainable Peace Project, Puntland, and Galmudug States, in partnership with PDRC (R2P 1).
  3. Reconciliation and Peace Building Process, Lower Shabelle Reconciliation: Phase One- In early 2018, a conference for the clans of Habargidir and Biimaal was held at the City Plaza Hotel in Mogadishu, to put an end to the endless conflict that had been intensifying in the Lower Shabelle region’s Marka District. Horncenter played a significant role in the two clans’ eventual amicable resolution of their long-running conflict.
  4. Horncenter Dialogue Facilitated Dialogue for Lower Shabelle Reconciliation: Phase Two: The Horncenter first served as a mediator and brought together the elders of the two clans, politicians, and intellectuals, which helped the reconciliation process, succeed.
  5. Another important component that contributed to the reconciliation process’ success was the Horn center’s involvement of the religious, youth, and women associations. The second phase of reconciliation conference, which was conducted in October 2018, and the reconciliation conference that paved the way for the end of the two clans’ protracted conflict. The second conflict reconciliation conference put an end to the two clans’ protracted feud.
